Each pond is different, for ponds 1 acre or larger RPS recommends just starting with one fountain aerator and then wait a bit to see if your specific pond requires a second kit. 80% of the time, you won't need a second kit!
Long Narrow, Kidney and Abstract shaped pond owners may consider more smaller fountains vs larger ones.
